Anyone may use the message board. Some topics may require registering as a user, other topics you may be able to post as a guest.

What is this site all about? Why is it here?
We started this site in 2005 as a simple list of businesses in this area or outside the area that would come out to the Polk Mountain area. While living out-of-state and trying to have work done on our house here, we found it difficult to locate the right type of services locally, and even harder to find the "right" company that would travel out to this area. Slowly but surely we found the right companies, but it would have saved a lot of time if we could find them all on the web. So we decided to start this site as a list of companies we utilized and had good experiences with then later allowed others to add thier businesses to the list. With the addition of the Weather, News and Community Message board this year the site grew, and is continuing to grow. You may add your own business to the website by filling out the form on the "List your business" page. We hope you find it useful. It's a "work in progress." |
Do you choose the news articles that appear on the site?
No, these come into the web site automatically from the different news sources. They are updated at the same time the news sources updates their pages...in realtime. |
I want a PolkMountain.com email address how much is it?
At the moment, we've just been giving this to neighbors for free when asked. Due to the possibility of someone trying to use it to send SPAM we can't make email available to just anyone. Call us if you are interested an email address. |
